Entry from: Sihanoukville, Cambodia Entry Title: “Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville” Entry: “January 7th 2008: Phnom Penh – Cambodia After an emotionally draining day prior we just relax, wander around, eat and think about where to go next. Seeing S-21 and the Killing Fields has fulfilled our sight seeing commitments and now, with no real plans or specific itinerary we are completely open and flexible. Crossing the border back into Thailand would put us very close to the North Eastern coast island of Ko Chang and it’s smaller, adjoining isles and after almost a month of scheduling, planning and sticking to itineraries, lying agendaless on a beach for a few days sounds pretty damn good. Eventually we stir ourselves enough to go looking for some bus tickets and are surprised to discover that all the tickets for the next day to Ko Chang are sold out. Bugger. Taking a quick scan of the board we search for alternate destinations which not only look appealing but also have available tickets. We notice that we can go to Sihanoukville, a beach resort area on Cambodia’s southern coast for a mere .50 and, more to the point, there are tickets still to be had.
